April 4, 2008 - A big day

Friday, April 4 was a big day for two reasons. The first reason was we got to see our little Pumpkin a second time. Just three and a half weeks since our first ultrasound, we marveled at the differences. Not just a little bean, but little arms and legs wiggled on the screen at us. A very welcome and happy sight!


The second reason it was a big day was that we saw our house for the first time. We had been house-hunting since the week we landed back in Ohio. Addison and I did most of the looking since Ian went back to work the Monday after we returned. On April 4th Ian had already taken the morning off work to go to the doctor's appointment with me, so we were able to see this house as a family. The house had been on the market about three days. We liked the overall location and the proximity to the schools. It had almost everything we wanted. We decided we would make an offer.


It might seem that we were moving lightening fast. Only sixteen days after returning to Ohio we were making an offer on a house. To understand this fully, you have to know Honda's policy on providing temporary housing and storage of belongings is very limited time wise. Honda's policy is to only pay for one month of temporary housing rent. After that, we would be responsible for paying the rent on the furnished apartment we were in. As for our belongings, unless we were in contract for a house or apartment, everything (over 300 boxes plus large furniture) would be delivered to our temporary housing (apartment) after 30 days. We would then be responsible for moving those items to our new home. We needed to move quickly.
