While I was still early in my pregnancy with Pumpkin, we decided to take a trip to Atlanta, Georgia to visit Ian's brother, Chris and his wife, Sarah. Chris and Sarah moved to Atlanta from Chicago while we were still living in Tokyo. This was our first trip to their new place. Ian's mom drove from Virginia and joined us. We arrived in Atlanta by plane on Tuesday, July 1.
They neighborhood has a very nice pool, which was great to beat the heat of "Hot-lanta". It also has this small splash pad area. Since it was early in the week, we had the pool and splash pad relatively to ourselves.

The neighborhood also has a great play area for kids. Addison took full advantage of this!
Chris was able to escape work on Thursday, July 3 and we all went to Stone Mountain Park. The rock’s top attraction is The Summit Skyride. This high-speed Swiss cable car provides a stunning view of the Confederate Memorial Carving as it transports guests more than 825 feet (251 m) above ground to the top of Stone Mountain. From the top, we had an amazing view of the Atlanta skyline. The three men depicted on the carving are Confederate President Jefferson Davis and Generals Robert E. Lee and Stonewall Jackson.

For Friday, July 4 Chris and Sarah took us to nearby Decatur, where we got to see a local parade. What kid doesn't like a parade?

We enjoyed hanging out at Chris and Sarah's the rest of the day. I'm sure there was plenty of good food and drink. Here are the Haggerty men playing "bags" as the Southerns call it or "cornhole" if you're from the North.
